BREAKING NEWS: Rank Cronyism, Rank Nepotism Feed the Academic Corruption That Gave D:F/M Its Bad Image
Wednesday, May 25th, 2016It was Colleague Larry Shore Who Calls Himself a Professor who dared to tell Colleagues at a faculty meeting a while back that the department had a bad image on campus. His comments were at first met with subtle disbelief, followed by quiet resignation.
Of course, there was no discussion about why?

Attention Former Professional Staff Congress Chapter Chair @ Hunter College
Thursday, December 17th, 2015Note: This was intended for you, Colleague Tami Gold, when you were the Hunter College PSC Chapter Chair. I admit it is late.
Department of Film and Media Studies Colleagues & Staff have been using and trying to use the University’s Violence in the Workplace Committee and Hunter College Security to stifle dissent, intimidate Colleagues & Staff who don’t share their values and opinions.

New York Healthy Workplace Advocates Accepting Personal Accounts of Workplace Bullying Experiences for its March 2015 Lobby Days
Saturday, February 7th, 2015Send them to: info@nyhwa.org Do not underestimate the power of personal accounts!
Grassroots organizations like NYHWA effectively use personal accounts, which will be distributed to all 212 New York State legislators and the Governor’s office. You can participate in the lobbying effort just by sending NYHWA a written personal account. Workplace bullying includes verbal abuse, psychological abuse, work interference and/or work sabotage and, according to recent studies, is more prevalent than on-the-job sexual harassment & racial discrimination. It also includes phony violence in the workplace complaints and other threats to job safety.
Sign this petition to support the NY Healthy Workplace Bill.

Riposte: Re Kelly Anderson & Bernard Stein
Sunday, September 1st, 2013Back in March, 2013, I wrote the post below on Hunter-L. It is a factually correct, straight forward description of the inner workings of the Department of Film and Media Studies. It was revelatory about D:F/M academic debauchery. Colleagues Kelly Anderson and Bernard Stein responded with posts on Hunter-L. I was surprised by their lack of candor in a public forum. And I will need to do another post to address Colleague Stein’s comments.

Professional Staff Congress President Barbara Bowen Has Yet to Respond But …
Sunday, March 11th, 2012… below is an email from a Colleague regarding a discussion among my D:F/M Colleagues about a reaction to my March 6 “Attention Professional Staff Congress President Barbara Bowen.”
It needs a rebuttal, of course, but I’ve decided to post it first without comment.[ Note: I wish these people would use all caps for the correct spelling of the WORD.]

Must Reading for the 4 Barnacles of the Apocalypse and Other Colleagues
Friday, February 27th, 2009I am recommending the New York Times’ Stanley Fish February 16 column, Is the Academy Different? for the benefit of the 4 Barnacles of the Apocalypse* and other colleagues confused about tenets and canons of Academic Freedom.
