By FreidaPeople Stat posting on Raymond Santana’s Facebook Page:
Lynn, with all due respect, the tragedy is these boys got railroaded at every step of the way and the media was happy to support their presumption of guilt based on their skin color. The tragedy is that even to this day, people insist on smearing their character as men. The tragedy is that even when Black and brown people are completely innocent, there is a presumption of guilt.
The tragedy is that most of the people in this world still won’t believe the lesson this whole thing teaches us. Crime is not based on skin color and cops are not here to protect or serve children of color from poor communities. I applaud the men I have come to know a bit. In spite of all the harm our racist system inflicted on these kids, they became pillars of society and great role models. The system took their youth, but never their integrity. Can’t wait until all the files are unsealed.
Justice for the Central Park Five. Justice for all.
FreidaPeople Stat posts regularly on Facebook and I and many, many others consider her opinions pretty much Gospel.

From info@nyhwa.org [info@nyhwa.org]:
Massachusetts needs your help.
The following is from the Massachusetts Healthy Workplace Advocates. Like last week in Puerto Rico, their bill is ready for a floor vote but the Tea Party reps are preventing it from a floor vote. Please pass the following message along to those in NY and Massachusettes who can call these individuals and let them know it is in the best interest of businesses to stop abusive work environments.

From New York Healthy Work Place Advocates
The 2013-2014 Session of the NYS Legislature ends next week on Thursday, June 19, 2014. During these last eight days that the NYS legislature meets, a few select pieces of legislation will be passed. In the Senate, the bill S3863 must next pass through the Senate Finance Committee and then go to the floor for a vote. In the Assembly, the bill A4965 must next pass through the Assembly Labor Committee and then go to the floor for a vote.
Please call to tell the five key NYS legislators listed below that you want the Healthy Workplace Bill (bill numbers: S3863 / A4965) to go to a floor vote before session ends.

Message from the host of: “Koch Party on Park Avenue”
To: Greggory w Morris
The following is a message from the host of Koch Party on Park Avenue, the MoveOn Action that you signed up to attend:
Greetings!
We’re looking forward to joining you tonight for the Koch Party outside David Koch’s Park Avenue apartment, to expose the Koch brothers’ attacks on our democracy, our environment, our voting rights, and our social safety net.
Have a camera phone? Please bring it and be ready to snap photos, take video, and share with all your friends, using hashtag #KochParty
We’ll gather at 6 p.m. today at the NW corner of Park Avenue and W. 71st St. The rain has stopped and the sun has come out–and we’re going to have fun.
This is the kick-off to a summer of activism. We’re expecting media coverage, so having a strong turnout is key. Your presence matters!
See you there!
Victoria and Aaron
