The Truth Won’t Set Him Free

Monday, April 27th, 2015

Below is another unsolicited email from Colleague Larry Shore, a Colleague whose veracity is always questionable in his passionate mission to thwart revelations about the sleaze in the Department of Film and Media Studies, Hunter College, City University of New York. He should be addressing the thuggery that takes place in D:F/M.

This particular email, printed below without comment, concerns: “The lead posterchild[sic] for your campaign has been Tami,” seen here at a department meeting when the Department Chair lost his cool and asked to be smacked: “Hit me,” he asked twice. Tami lost her cool, too.

There is so much prevaricating in the email below, that I will have to wait until classes end this semester to respond to it – if that’s what I decide to do.  Colleague Shore leaves out any mention of the phony Violence in the Workplace Complaint that was one of the results of that meeting when Tami pulled out her teenie-weenie digital camera and starting shooting video. The phony complaint is still resonating. More about that later.

Colleague Gold is not the poster child for my petition supporting the New York State Healthy Workplace Bill to make workplace and academic bullying illegal in NYC. But this is true: Too many Colleagues act like thugs and too many support the thuggery. More about this later.

Those complicit in bullying in D:F/M; all but one signed off on a phony Violence in the Workplace complaint. Logo revision in the works.

The Hunter Administration Should Put a Fatwa on the D:F/M Department Chair

Sunday, April 12th, 2015

Here is the lead of a message I recently posted on the Hunter-L Listserv about a hit being planned for me. Hunter-L is the primary listserv for intercommunications for the campus.

Attention Hunter Administration
It has come to my attention that a Colleague is on a designated mission encouraging students and former students to provide scandalous scuttlebutt to the D:F/M Chair and a D:F/M staffer about a tenured D:F/M Colleague. They in turn are to pass the info onto The Hunter Administration. A diabolical witch hunt of a tenured professor – me? Egad!

I’m heading to Albany this spring vacation and you will be one topic of discussion with legislators:

If the NYS Healthy Workplace Bill becomes law, a business that does not put policies and procedures in place that correct and prevent workplace bullying, the employer becomes legally liable financially for the bullies behavior. They can be sued by the target in Civil Court because bullying will be against the law.

If the employer DOES enforce policies, and the bully stops, situation solved. If the bully doe not stop his or her behavior, then the employer is held harmless and the target can then sue the bully directly in Civil Court.

There can be financial consequences (awards) directly payable by the bully to the target.

Just thought you should know what’s in store for you.
