The following was posted on the Hunter-L listserv and I received noticed that it was one of the reasons that my privileges were suspended. Hunter-L use to be a gateway of information but then it was decided that too much information wasn’t in the best interest of the special interests on campus, especially the ones supportive of “Dirty Linen.”

It makes practical sense for a news operation to point out that workplace and academic bullying are costly to the institutions where the bullying takes place. But too many institutions perceive workplace bullying as a business expense or a practice that has to be endured because of tradition. And, of course, because of ignorance.

An Important Minding the Workplace Article About Bullying

David Yamada, Professor of Law and founding Director of the New Workplace Institute at Suffolk University Law School, Boston, writes in his the latest issue of Minding the Workplace:

Workplace bullying is motivated by a desire to cause distress or harm to a target. In its most virulent forms, it can have a destructive impact on a target’s health and livelihood. Here is where the eliminationist instinct may be specially present, with a huge capacity for dehumanization. The target is regarded as something that can and should be rubbed out.

Below is another unsolicited email from Colleague Larry Shore, a Colleague whose veracity is always questionable in his passionate mission to thwart revelations about the sleaze in the Department of Film and Media Studies, Hunter College, City University of New York. He should be addressing the thuggery that takes place in D:F/M.

This particular email, printed below without comment, concerns: “The lead posterchild[sic] for your campaign has been Tami,” seen here at a department meeting when the Department Chair lost his cool and asked to be smacked: “Hit me,” he asked twice. Tami lost her cool, too.

There is so much prevaricating in the email below, that I will have to wait until classes end this semester to respond to it – if that’s what I decide to do.  Colleague Shore leaves out any mention of the phony Violence in the Workplace Complaint that was one of the results of that meeting when Tami pulled out her teenie-weenie digital camera and starting shooting video. The phony complaint is still resonating. More about that later.
