Update on the New York State Healthy Workplace Bill

April 22nd, 2014

Massachusetts is close to becoming the first state to pass a healthy workplace bill. And New York could still pass its bill this legislative session. NYSHW Coordinator Mike Schlicht reports “nothing is happening on the bill. There is a meeting this month between some players in Albany on an issue that is holding it up. Right now if the Mass bill passes the house, that will help us in NY get by this issue.”

“Right now we are concentrating on building groundswell so there are more voices for the legislators to hear from.”

Folks should call:
Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (518) 455-3791 or (212) 312-1420
Senate Co-President Dean Skelos (518) 455-3171 or (516) 766-8383
Senate Co-President Jeffrey Klein (518) 455-3595 or (718) 822-2049

More info later.
