Q: Want to wrap up?
A: Let me write a wrap-up in a few days (middle of week or so). The curfew ends today, I can start going out to talk to a few people. A lot of ‘experts’ expect this to turn into a series of guerilla attacks , but now there is a very uneasy calm. Also, the Thai government has been arresting foreigners who they say were “outside agitators.” One English bloke is facing a possible death penalty for ‘exhorting’ the crowd to burn down the Central World Mall.

The elderly and children have gone to the Temples which have been declared sanctuaries by the Thai government, but at night the Red Shirt fighters use the temples has havens.”]

The Red Shirts just announced that they will only disband if the deputy prime minister agrees to face criminal charges relating to the April 10th death of 20 civilians…like that’s ever going to happen. this does not bode well for a peaceful resolution.

Funny, it seems counter intuitive, but the closer you are to a story and the more access you have , like here with the Thai Red Shirts, the more you rely on outside sources for information ( or at least corroboration )
