On February 6, the New York State Legislature Joint Higher Education Committee will hold its annual budget hearing. NYSR members will be testifying at the hearing to tell lawmakers that endless tuition hikes are crushing us in student debt. Rather than fund SUNY and CUNY through tuition hikes, New York State should tax the rich and make them pay their fair share.
The State Legislature must also increase TAP to support working- and middle class students and pass the NY DREAM Act to ensure that undocumented students receive in-state tuition.
