My Ford Foundation Grant: Lessons Learned – 3

Lesson 3. YouTube and other platforms like it are excellent tools for teaching students about multimedia news dissemination.

They can be invaluable for programs and departments and colleges that lack the resources of well-funded public and private institutions (such as the Big 10 and the Ivy League). They are better resources than the community access channels of neighborhood cable TV operations, though this writer believes that the community access channels can still play important roles in students learning about multimedia communications. But students involve in this project were more interested in showcasing their work on YouTube and the response to their work continues to be significant. Check out hunterword/YouTube.
