It was sold and the deal has been cloaked in secrecy. It stopped publishing in mid September. It boasted a membership of college news services that spanned the country and had members over seas. Should anyone care about the demise of a national student news organization?
It’s the mystery covering up the demise that draws this writer/instructor’s attention. After several emails that were never returned and unsuccessful attempts via facebook.com with various UWIRE personalities, I finally found a copy of the contract with the original owner, ABC online, and asked a lawyer what was up.
It was sold and that’s all the info provided.
Don’t understand the secrecy. Weird. No announcements. No advisories. Nothing. Something’s up with this.
